Darcy Allen
About the Author
Dr Darcy Allen is an economist and writer. His research focuses on the economics and political economy of new technologies using institutional economics and entrepreneurial theory. He is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub.
Dr Allen has made academic contributions to economics and political economy (including in the International Journal of the Commons, New Perspectives on Political Economy, Review of Austrian Economics, Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice, and Journal of the British Blockchain Association).
Dr Allen is also an Academic Fellow of the Worldwide Blockchain Innovation Association, an Adjunct Fellow with the Institute of Public Affairs, an Academic Fellow with the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance, and he sits on the editorial boards of The Journal of the British Blockchain Association and Frontiers in Blockchain.
He recently co-edited a book on Australian regulation, Australia’s Red Tape Crisis: The Causes and Costs of Over-regulation, and currently has three books under contract on entrepreneurial theory, institutional economics and the economics of blockchain technology. His working papers on SSRN have been downloaded over 7,500 times (placing him in the top 10% of authors) and he has over 350 Google Scholar citations.
